Video: Fan Bobbles Foul Ball into Friend’s Beer

Jul 19, 2012

In an otherwise uneventful game, a fan at Wrigley Field made the catch of the day. Unfortunately, the foul ball ended up ruining a beer that likely cost more than the ball itself.

The play occurred in the second inning of Thursday’s game between the Cubs and the Marlins. With one on and nobody out in the top of the second inning, Hanely Ramirez fouled a chopper to the third base side of the diamond.

After ricocheting off fans in the first few rows of the stands, the ball ended up  bouncing off the forehead of a girl and then landed in her beer. Perhaps the most interesting part of the video is her boyfriend’s reaction to the ball landing in the beer, acting as though he made a nice play on the ball.
