With the first week of September in the books and pennant races heating up, fantasy baseball owners still in the playoff hunt are scrambling to make late season moves that will put them over the top.
Although the Dodgers front office has been adding high-priced players at a rapid pace over the last two months, Los Angeles has fallen to 5.5 games behind the NL West leading Giants. The Dodgers boast a potent offense that rivals that of the Yankees or Rangers, but appear to lack a pitching rotation capable of keeping pace with San Francisco.
The Nationals shut down ace pitcher Stephen Strasburg for the remainder of the regular and post season. According to numerous reports, the front office believed that despite protests by Strasburg and Washington fans, shutting down Strasburg in hopes of saving his arm for the long-term benefit of the team was the best option. I believe that shutting down Strasburg is somewhat of a gamble by the Nationals front office, similar to wagers made on top betting sites like http://www.partycasino.com
