The Pirates are still in the market for an offensive addition before the July 31st trade deadline. According to Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the Pirates are looking at adding Cleveland Indian outfielder Shin-Shoo Choo.
Choo would be a nice addition to a Pirate team that trails the NL Central leading Reds by just two games, however, Choo would likely come at a steep price for the Bucs.
Biertempfel reports that the Pirates would likely need to part ways with Starling Marte to get the deal done.
The Indians are also in playoff contention, trailing the AL Central leading White Sox by just five and a half games. It remains to be seen if the Tribe would part ways with a valuable asset like Choo while still in the mix for a wild card spot.
