Add the LA Dodgers to the list of teams looking to trade for Cole Hamels before the July 31st deadline. According to a report by Danny Knobler of CBSsports, the Dodgers are looking to add Hamels, but may not have the required pieces to entice the Phillies to make a deal.
“Yes, they’re interested, but they appear to be something of a longshot to make a deal with the Phillies.” Knobler wrote regarding the possible deal. “The Dodgers have spoken to the Phillies about Hamels, sources said Sunday, but the Phillies aren’t thrilled with the players the Dodgers could offer in return.”
With the possiblity of Chad Billingsley missing time due to an injured shoulder, the Dodgers will likely be active at the trade deadline. Knobler also notes that the Dodgers are also interested in Ryan Dempster and Matt Garza.
