Rafael Furcal Done for the Season

Rafael Furcal Done for the Season

Sep 1, 2012

St. Louis Cardinals All-Star shortstop, Rafael Furcal was placed on the 15 day DL yesterday, prior to the team’s matchup with the Washington Nationals.

Reports are indicating that Furcal suffered a tear in the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow during Thursday night’s game after making two hard throws in the sixth inning.  Furcal did leave Thursday’s game early.

The assumption is that this in injury will keep him out for the remainder of the season and quite possibly require surgery.  A huge blow for his fantasy owners; Furcal is batting .264/325/.346 with five homers, 12 steals and 49 RBI.
